Today, our dentist, Dr. Derek Takai, is happy to share some facts about toothbrushes that you most likely didn’t know. Our dental team hopes you learn something new today and maybe even understand your toothbrush a little more. Some interesting toothbrush facts include:

-It’s best to choose a toothbrush that has the American Dental Association Seal of Acceptance.

-It’s recommended to use a toothbrush that has soft bristles.

-The toothbrush is 5,000 years old, but our modern-day toothbrush was invented in 1938.

-It doesn’t matter if you use an electric or manual toothbrush.

-It doesn’t matter if you brush before or after you floss. As long as you do both, you should be set.

-Toothbrushes like to be left out in the open. This allows them to dry.

-Toothbrushes only have a lifespan of 3-4 months.

-It’s important to brush your teeth twice a day for two minutes each time.

-Although sharing is caring, it’s best not to share your toothbrush.
